Summer is coming to an end and kids are ready to return to school. This is an exciting time for parents and children alike. There are many families that have been displaced due to fire and water losses throughout our state. We at Michigan Fire Claims Inc. would like to wish all our clients with students a safe and happy school year knowing the difficulty they have of relocating or waiting for their lives to get back to normal due to these tragedies.

After a loss, insureds should make every attempt to secure the property from any additional damage or theft and keep a record of costs. Many investors and homeowners are unaware that their policies will reimburse them for theses expenses. There are many examples of individules not protecting there property and insurance companies not wanting to pay for missing items after the fact.

The Denby family suffered a fire in Cadillac Michigan and requested help to determine if a land contract was as effective as purchasing through conventional means in replacement of the home they owned that was destroyed by fire.
Under Michigan law, a deed does not need to be recorded to be effective as between the parties to the deed. Evans v Holloway Sand & Gravel, Inc., 106 Mich App 70, 308 NW2d 440 (1981)

Help for fire and water claims victims in Norther Michigan will be easier with a possible branch office in the Gaylord or Grayling area this coming summer. There has been a tremendous need for Public and Private Adjusters by insureds requesting estimates and help after their losses. I would like to thank Dave Sears in Gaylord for helping James Davis who suffered a fire and was not insured outside of Grayling. Dave provided shelter and money to the family.
